Ingredients

  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 30 g tomato paste
  • 800 g canned tomatoes

Method

    Gather ingredients: 30 ml olive oil, 1 onion, 1 bay leaf, 1 tsp oregano, 3 cloves garlic, 1 tsp salt, 30 g tomato paste, 800 g canned tomatoes. Tools needed: large pot, wooden spoon, knife, cutting board.

    Dice the onion and mince the garlic.

    Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onions, bay leaf, oregano, garlic, and salt. Cook until onions are translucent, about 10 minutes.

    Add tomato paste and cook for 5 minutes.

    Add tomatoes and stir until the sauce begins to boil. Lower heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring every 5 minutes.
