
Ultimate Caprese Salad
A vegetarian gluten-free Italian salad. Ready in about 40 minutes, serves 4.

Ingredients
- • 200 g cherry tomatoes
- • 105 ml olive oil
- • to taste salt
- • 4 large tomatoes
- • 450 g fresh mozzarella cheese
- • to taste black pepper
- • 30 g fresh basil
- • 1 loaf crusty bread
Method

Gather ingredients: 200 g cherry tomatoes, 105 ml olive oil, salt, 4 large tomatoes, 450 g fresh mozzarella cheese, black pepper, 30 g fresh basil, 1 loaf crusty bread. Tools needed: small bowl, large platter, knife, cutting board.

Slice large tomatoes and mozzarella; halve cherry tomatoes. Toss cherry tomatoes with 15 ml oil and salt in a small bowl.

Arrange tomato slices on a platter, slightly overlapping; season with salt. Layer mozzarella over tomatoes and season mozzarella with salt.

Spoon seasoned cherry tomatoes over the salad and drizzle with 90 ml oil; season with pepper. Let stand 30 minutes.

Top salad with fresh basil leaves. Add additional salt and oil if desired. Serve with bread alongside.
